Strategies:
Students will sit down in the circle area,
teachers will explain to them what were
doing for the day to get them prepared.
Teachers will first show them the Gumball
machine with 3 Gumballs in it with a sticky
note label that says 3, then show them
another one with 5 Gumballs with the sticky
note label saying 5.
The last Gumball machine will contain 4
Gumballs and a sticky note label that says
?, we will ask the students a series of
questions such as: Do you think this machine
has more or less than 3? Do you think this
machine has more or less than 5? How
many do you think are in this machine?
We will let each student write their estimation
and name on a piece of paper, we will collect
the papers then hang them on the board
showing all their answers.
We will count the Gumballs in the machine
together with the students and find out who
was close to the answer and who got it right.
ACTIVITIES
Grabber:
We will sing all together, and then we will ask them how many
students in the class without counting so they have to guess, and
then we will tell them about the Gumballs activity so they can be
ready for the activity.
