What Does Illegal Look Like?

In todays society we see many diverse types of people living among us. From all
around the world people travel and immigrate for a better life than they originally had.
Not many people get this opportunity to turn there life around for the sake of happiness
and freedom. Especially here in America, life for immigrants is a long journey of
becoming a legal citizen. The message that this video gives us is to show awareness of a
law that has been passed in Arizona that exhibits racial profile based on illegal features.
This PSA targets citizens based on features that can be found on any normal person,
showing that you cant put a label on somebody that is actually illegal or not. This act
enables people to engage in legal acts of profiling which lead to legal discrimination. Not
only will this influence discrimination, it will make everyone a target for prosecution
because being illegal has no face or race. The act of discriminating is never going to go
away in todays culture until we are united as humans and not as divided citizens, and to
show awareness is to bring the consciousness of the public to adhere to the prosperity of
realizing that our humanity is more important.
The way the author uses ethos is by using a largely known problem in the world
today; discrimination. The moral of this video is to not discriminate because you can
never know someone unless you truly know them. Everyone is a victim of discrimination
no matter what your race or nationality is, this is why its a widely known issue to nations

all around. This itself is credible by knowing how discrimination is used all around us in
our daily lives. Mostly by being ignorant to others perspectives and how you view them
yourself by addressing your own opinions about them. So for the author to talk about
discrimination he has to talk from a perspective of every kind of human individual no
matter the race or skin otherwise the message would not be ideal enough to reach a wide
range of audiences.
How the author portrayed pathos was by using a large audience of different races and
ethnicity and using different age groups such as infants. By showing the infants we have
the emotion of empathy which sheds light on the more innocent side of discrimination,
how far can it go? The innocence is a big theme in the pathos, even the lighting that is
being portrayed on the audience is a very bright sunlight as if they are pure and innocent.
Another pathos analysis is the sad music they had playing in the background of the video,
this insures the the message that is being perceived as sad or hopeless. Family, is another
audience it reaches which, is one of the many emotional bonds that everybody has in their
life. This act will effect everyone to a degree of fitting the description of being "illegal",
that is why it is important to portray the message and feeling of unity instead of dividing
one another.
The way we can analyze logos in this video is the fact that this is an actual act that
has been passed to seclude illegals and bring them to legal justice. Not only does this act
impose legal profiling but also its unconstitutional to the first amendment of the US
constitution dealing with individual freedoms. The video was to bring awareness to the
act that has been placed in Arizona and how it affects everyone that is a citizen within the
state. Everyone is a victim to this law so its up to everybody to change it how they see fit.

The author shows a great use in communicating to the audience using rhetoric
appeal. He emphasized how it effects everyone by using a large range of audiences within
his video and how everyone feels about it using emotion within his imaging and audio
input.
