World History

This class is a freshmen history class that shall be focusing on World History. In this class we
will explore diverse cultures such as the Ancient Egyptians to the Japanese. In this class the text
book shall serve as the main reference for this course. However this will not be the only
reference and resource that shall be used. These other resources shall be primary sources,
historical fiction, political cartoons, clips from film and various other forms of media as we
divulge into the wonders that is history and how these events have shaped the world around us.

Materials (upon teacher request)

Pens and Pencils


Cell phones
College ruled paper
A binder for belle work & notes
Google email that shall be connected to the classes google classroom
Any other material will be upon teachers request

Grade scale:
A = 90% - 100%
B = 80% - 89%
C = 70% - 79%
D = 60% - 69%
F = 59% or below
There will be numerous ways you shall be assed in this class. These will include: class
participation, homework, essays, project, quizzes, discussion board, tests, DBQs and various
other assessments.
Class Rules

Unless you have a pass you will be marked tardy if you walk in a minute after the
bell.

Cell phones shall only be out or used upon teacher request.


I shall dismiss you at the end of class, I will alert you when you are to pack up a
minute before the bell rang.
ELE Everybody love everybody, disrespect amongst your peers or teacher shall not
be tolerated.
Your seat shall be assigned and I have the right to move you from said seat.
One person at a time when it comes to going to the bathroom unless its an absolute
emergency.
No cursing
Cheating is an automatic 0
Talking is to be kept a minor drone when lecture is not being presented. This is a
privilege and the teacher waves the right to abolish this privilege.

Late Work
There shall be a life happens pass that students can exercise four times throughout each semester
in which you shall be given two extra days to turn in your homework assignment. This is only
applicable to homework assignments only. Any assignments turned in later shall be docked a
letter grade each day it is late until it is a D.
For research papers and projects you will be docked 5% each day that it is late until the grade is a
D.
If youre on an IEP your accommodations shall be met with whatever time you need. However if
you exceed this extra time then the policy regarding late work shall be applied to you.
Absences
Excused Absences: For every day you have an excused absence is the amount of time you have
to make up the wok. This policy also includes research papers as well and is not applicable to
group projects. In regards to clubs and sports excused absences it is due the same day in my box
before you leave.
Unexcused Absences: Will follow the same rule stated above in the late work sections. You have
four life happens passes so this shouldnt be an issue.
