Anticipatory Set: What will you do to focus everyone's attention on the lessons objectives? Today
Today I will introduce tennis. More specifically the class will participate in an academic relay that will consist of learning the rules of the
game and the lines/areas on the court, I will also demonstrate the forehand and backhand technique, and finally students will get into pairs
and assess each others technique. If Students finish with more time left in the class I will give them a tennis ball skills challenge that focuses
on hand eye coordination and teamwork.
What I will do to encourage students PA engagement beyond my class:
It is important to try out different sports or different activities that will put you outside your comfort zone. You may meet new friends, discover
a hidden talent, or network with people. Tennis may lead you into a new hobby or meeting someone new, you wont know until you try it.
