Today, With the advent of technology the world has become so compact that one can go
across the world in a couple of days and with complete comforts. Now everybody wants
to go abroad for various reasons like for higher education, better jobs opportunities,
business purposes and for sightseeing also. In Astrology, for foreign travel and foreign
settlement, some specific combinations are there in the horoscope which gives clear
indication about the possibility and timing of foreign journeys.
7th, 9th, 8th and 12th houses in the horoscope indicate foreign travel and residence.
Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn are movable signs indicates travelling/ journey to
foreign/distant lands. Cancer is a powerful sign in this regard as it is both a moveable
sign and a watery sign. Sun, Moon, Saturn and Rahu are the significators for foreign
travel. Rahu is the main karak for foreign travel. Moon is the chief governor of
journey. When most of the planets and houses (7th, 9th, 8th and 12th) are connected

For Higher Education: When 4th 9th 12th houses lords are connected one
will go abroad for higher education. 4th house is for basic education, 9th house
for higher education and 12th house for foreign travel/change of environment.

4th house, native look for permanent settlement in abroad. The ascendant lord in

Foreign Travel in kp system:
In Kp system for foreign travel we see the sub lord of 12th cusp. If the sub lord of the 12th cusp is
the significator of the 3rd, 9th, or 12th, and especially of the 9th, then foreign travel will be
promised during the joint period of the significators of the 3rd, 9th, and 12th.
Directions associated with the journey
As direction of the journey is mostly linked with rashis direction. Rasi which represent the
western side are Gemini, libra and aquarius. When the concerned lords and moon are placed in
respective houses like 9th, 12th or 4th in these rashi then chances are more bright that one will
go to US or Canada.

Saturn indicates a trip towards western direction from birth place. Sun indicates long distance
travel towards eastern direction. Moon indicates journeys towards north-west direction. Mars
