Display Title: The seasons
Description and Photo
It is divided into different categories for example; big pictures showed time, sun, student writing, and
written sentences below each picture.

Criteria to be discussed with each teacher:


Is childrens work the primary focus of the display?
The design from the teacher, while the focuses mostly on students who write
every think in the card.

It is divided into different categories. For example, each card included events that
happened during the day so when it is sunny the child wrote I played outside. The
written language could show the feeling or Ss view about the image.

How interactive is the display?


The students were happy when they saw their writing in the wall and proud about
their work. Also, Ss from other classes interact with the display so they read the
written language which that is an example of print rich environment.

This display has a powerful power outside the class because it enhanced reading for Ss

Designing Displays
Display Title: science subject "food chain"
Description and Photo
This display contained integrated work between the teacher and the student.
The teachers work: she slicked the food chain definition, the procedure,
what does consumers and decomposers mean? Also, the scientific method
tips.
The students work : they made their own chain.

This display talked from Grade three.

It splits into two sections, one contains students food chains and the other section
is the teachers work( definition of the food chain and procedures to make a food
chain)

It is connected to the curriculum, based on science lesson.
How interactive is the display?
Used to revise the lesson and help students to understand and remember the
vocabulary words, and the steps.

Other comments
This display was affective because it is support the student to remember the vocabulary, tips, and the way
for making chains so knowledge drummed in their brain.

What do you think should be reflected in displays? Should it be the


teachers work or students? Why?
I think that display should include more of the student work
and less amount of teacher work so this integration between
both is a great idea have many advantages for example;
Display teachers work
It help student to read the definition, gain vocabularies, acquire
language and scaffold Ss while learning.
Display students work
Students encouraged to participate more in class work activity,
proud about their work, feel happy, motivated and enjoyed. .
According to krashen who believed that when students are
happy, secure and safe this will open the knowledge door for
them therefore, they will motivate to learn.
Why is it important to include the childrens work on the display?
Displaying students works will send several messages for students.
First of all, the teacher value what we do. In addition, this is their
classroom as much as the teachers so, students can share their
works and learn from each other. Furthermore, students will look at
their work more frequently than teachers work or commercial
materials.
Are displays important teaching tools? Why ?
Yeah, because it is one way for making print rich classroom
environment where can student learn
Yes. Displays have the ability to create a rich and supportive
environment where students can learn perfectly. It reinforces Ss to
remember the knowledge quickly and
Additionally, it will engage students and building the class
community and a means of creating a sense of ownership in the
classroom.
List some things you think the teacher should take into account when
making displays?
1. Include all the Ss work.
2. Choose the right place
3. Put pieces at eye level.

4. Get Ss involve while creating the displays(ask for input from Ss)
5. Keep the displays fresh.

Write a paragraph discussing the following statement:


Effective classroom displays are the most powerful and
overlooked tools for teaching. (Clayton, 2001)
Creating fabulous displays are essential factors that lead to an attractive and
supportive environment for students because it has lots of advantages. First of
all, through the displays students can acquire and learn new vocabulary words.
In addition, it is the key to support students to construct their language and
knowledge. Furthermore, displays play a very important role to engage students
to learn because it has spectacular colors and this will lead to motivate them to
learn. Finally, it is very important to involve students in the process of making
the displays because this will give students a sense that their ideas and their
construction of meaning are important and worthy of being taken seriously.

The display includes integrated work: the teachers work and the students
work.
The teachers work: teacher made the design and provides information.
The students work: Ss did the writing and stick their writing in the display.

Rationale (Why do this display?)


Seasons make the students aware about the changing happened during the year by
writing sentences with meaning full. Ss develop his writing skill through describing the
picture as a result, gaining new vocabularies and meaning . According to Norman who
think that" Use descriptive words in sentences provide students with practice to try out
new vocabulary words". (Norman, 2016) .
Resources needed
Pictures, printed card presenting the image and below the Ss writing, frame.
Step by step Plan (How)
1. Give card for Ss to write about best season for them.
2. Design the display and stick picture showing each season.
3. Stick below each picture information.
4. Ask Ss to stick their writing in the display and print papers.

How you stick written language:


1. On spring the Ss stick their writing that relate to it.
2. On fall Ss stick their writing that relate to it.
3. On summer Ss stick their writing that relate to it.
4. On winter Ss stick their writing that relate to it.
Other(reflection)
Creating displays play a very important role to enhance students learning. This
display related to the curriculum so Ss study about season in Language art book, story book, and in
science so they can build knowledge in each session and make connection between all this sessions and remember the
information in the display which is with sample, and easy language.
The display was effective in the classroom for instance, Ss respond to the T questions from looking at the
display. For example, T asked about the season that leaves fall so some students
turned to see the display and answer that is Fall.
