obvious that students picked up on this as well. You did a nice job interacting with
students and answering questions related to some challenging subjects.
I liked your commercials neat concept. Heart retching topic-especially the history
of child abuse. Enjoyed hearing a bit about your personal story and path into social
work. Good use of case examples. The students really jumped into the
conversation, and I could tell they were getting heated.
Questions were helpful in expanding the students knowledge in policy. The
content was logical and organized. It was clear that you were passionate about the
field of social work.
Bertha clearly has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Child Welfare which
added to the class. While she self-identified as nervous. Im not sure she came
across that way.
Special Strengths:
Knowledgeable of the subjectwas excellent. Cartoons and visuals were great.
Organic discussion about child welfare raised on professional knowledge and
experience.
Gentle, easy going manner to engage students when they werent jumping right
away.
Conversation style of presenting and understanding student.
I like your use of humor when recognizing the faulty system and your use of the
cartoon. Just love your honesty about policy and recognition that we must act and
change/create policies for the betterment of society! Love the self-care tip and
advise for working with such difficult situation.
Areas for improvements
Create more opportunities for students to be engaged in discussion/questioning.
