Greening Provision for Flyover

1.

Planting Trough
Planting trough is to be provided at both sides of flyover carriageways except along sections of the
flyover and slip roads that are ramping up or down. (Refer to figure 1)

Side Tables
Side tables are required to have space for true ground planting on both sides of the slip road and
viaducts. (Refer to figure 2)

Underneath Viaduct.
a. Minimum 2m planting verges to be provided on both sides of slip road and viaduct.
b. Planting verges must be free from any encroachment above ground, and/or are to be recessed to
at least 2-metre below ground level, and are not to slope with gradients steeper than 1:2.5. (Refer
to figure 3)

Irrigation System
a. Developers are required to liaise with NParks Streetscape Officers (contact person Ms. Ow Siew
Ngim 91903073 and Ms. Siti Nabila 81117672) on:i.
Routing of soil pipes, connection to PUBs main (new water/ potable water) etc.
ii.
Preferably self sustainable irrigation system
b. Developers would also need to provide lay-bys for water tankers.

Gap between flyovers


Developer to note that provision of gaps between flyover carriageways is essential for transmission
of light and water. The standard width of the gap is 4m wide. (Refer to figure 5)

Other requirements
(a) Developer to consult LTA and NEA if there are needs for provision of noise barrier between
flyover carriageways.
(b) Developer to indicate areas which will be green up, such as planter troughs and through ground
planting areas, in the development plans.
(c) Tree species along the road and viaduct will be determined later. The developer can specify
intended tree species for the greening up works for NParks considerations.
