THE BAND

ORIGIN OF BOSTON
Boston is an Classic American Rock band that was created in
Boston Massaschuttets United States by Tom Scholz and Epic
Records.

TOM SHCOLZ
Boston is centered around Tom Scholz. He started writing while attending
MIT in 1969 where he wrote the music for Fore Play.
He joined a band called Free Hold where he met his future Boston band
members Barry Goudreau and Jim Masdea.
Scholz formed the band Mothers Milk with Delp, Masdea, and Gourdeau in
1973 and quickly broke up in 1974.
Scholz then produced 6 new demos and played every instrument on the
recordings besides the drums. Three of those songs were hits on the
Boston album . They are More than a Feeling, Peace of Mind, and
Rock and Roll Band

THEIR DEBUT
Boston Released their first and most popular album that is self
titled Boston on August 8, 1976. It was an instant success
and sold over 17 million copies. With the hit songs:
More than a feeling
Peace of Mind
Long Time

SECOND ALBUM
Dont Look Back is their second studio album released in 1978.
It sold over 7 million copies.
It had the hit songs:

Feeling Satisfied

RUSHED
Tom Scholz Felt like the second album was rushed and did not
meet his standard. This ruined his relationship with his
manager Paul Ahern which causes more problems in the
future. The album sold over 7 million copies.

GOING SOLO
Scholz started writing music again in 1979 but, Paul Ahern the
bands former manager argued that the band was under
contract for 6 years. Scholz suggested that the band members
should work on their own projects until the contract expired.
Barry Goudreau released an album Barry Goudreau

BARRY GOUDREAU LEAVES


Epic records stopped promoting Goudreaus album so he left
the band in 1981.
He formed the band Orion The Hunter.

LAWSUIT
CBS Filed a 60 million dollar lawsuit against Scholz because he
didnt release the third albumin time.
Scholz won the lawsuit 7 years later in April 1990 and Joined
MCA Records.

INNOVATION
Scholz Research and Development, invented a new sound from
amplifiers. The company made musical products.
The Rockman amplifier is on of the inventions.

THIRD ALBUM
Third stage is the name of Bostons third album. It went No.1
on Billboard along with the hit single Amanda.
The album also had the hits
Were Ready and
Cantcha Say.

BRAD DELP LEAVES


In 1990 Delp left the band and Joined Barry Goudreaus new
band RTZ. Delp would later rejoin Boston in 1994.

FOURTH ALBUM
Walk On is Bostons fourth album. It went No. 7 on Billboard
and had the hit single I Need Your Love.
The album also raised awareness for
domestic and animal abuse.

FIFTH ALBUM
Boston released their fifth album Corporate America on an
independent label Artemis Records on November 5, 2002.
This Album Introduced Anthony Cosmo
And Kimberley Dahme as new members.
This album also supported PETA.

BRAD DELP DIES


Brad Delp Bostons lead vocalist committed suicide on March
9, 2007. His death was caused from carbon monoxide
poisning.

POLITICS
During the 2008 Presidential campaign Barry Goudreau
Preformed More than a feeling at a Mike Huckabee rallies .
Huckabee used it as the theme song to his rallies.
Tom Scholz wrote Huckabee a letter saying he had never
authorized the use of More than a feeling.

SIXTH ALBUM
Boston released their sixth album Life , Love, and Hope on
December 3, 2013 on another new label
Frontiers Records.
