Finishing the Coin Purse


Sew Velcro closure on purse flap and
opening. Sew button on flap.
Fold the rounded flap upon itself about
2 1/2 inches and the bottom flap
upon itself about 3 1/2 inches
(Figure 3).

Sewing the Lining

Approximately 3 1/2 x 5 inches

Materials
1 60 inch tape measure
1 package of blue jean fusible
patches
3/4 inch of Velcro
1 button
General sewing supplies

Cut the denim patch to fit the tape


measure fabric plus 1/2 inch in
length. Fuse the blue jean patch
to the tape measure fabric. Wrap
the 1/2 inch over the front and
fuse into place.
Using a bowl or rounded object, mark
a rounded cutting line onto the tape
measure fabric as shown (Figure 2).
Trim along the curved line.

Sew the sides of the 3 1/2-inch flap


(the edge that isnt round).

Assembly

Cut the tape measure into 10 inch


lengths with the initial cut at least
1/4 inch from the metal clip.
Adjust your sewing machine to the
widest zigzag setting and a stitch
length of 2.
Align tape measure lengths side-byside with right sides up and zigzag
the 5 lengths together (Figure 1) to
create the tape measure fabric.
