To Whom It May Concern:
Having had Julia Pusinelli in two Senior-level College Prep English courses in
addition to Junior English the previous year, I have witnessed and experienced a
level of maturity for a young woman, which is not commonly found among
teenagers of her age. Writing a letter of recommendation for this young woman is
perhaps the most challenging task because she has set the bar quite high. It is hard
to capture the magnificence in words. Having seen her success in high school,
while also, seeing her come back to help other students, is quite remarkable. Julia
possesses a dedication and drive which allows her to be successful, as well as,
continue to help others around her. She has such bold enthusiasm, which routinely
is demonstrated by putting all her energy into each assignment in a continuous
desire to grow academically. Her desire to improve makes her stand out instantly
amongst peers. Her communication skills, both through written and oral language,
continue to mature to create a solid foundation for both college and career alike.
She was never satisfied with a first-draft; instead, she routinely seeks out help to
ensure each assignment is stronger than the last. She was able to not only process
complicated pieces of literature, but also able to think analytically and process
these ideas. While Julia has an inner-drive, which motivates her to achieve
accomplishment, both academically and through extracurricular activities, she also
routinely inquires as to how she can better herself and her skills. She naturally and
effortlessly demonstrates leadership skills by taking initiative and guiding by
example to fellow classmates. She was the student to which teachers desired to
have in class and sadly miss when it is time to move forward in their education. In
addition to academics, Julia ensures she is well rounded by participating in both
extracurricular activities in the school and community alike. Throughout her years
at Glenbard East, Julia has helped manage the boys basketball and volleyball teams
respectively, in addition to being an excelling vocalist in Choir.
She also
participated in the theater department, singling out an exceptional performance in
the musical, Beauty and the Beast. Perhaps one of Julias strongest attributes was
her selfless willingness to assist in my classroom instead of sitting in a study hall
placement. Her ability to work patiently with students editing papers, explaining a
novel, etc, prove to be skills which were endlessly beneficial to the class. She is an
asset which will not be replaced; however, I know she will use these traits to benefit
countless others in the future. With a resume such as this, it would be easy for Julia
to stop there, but she also works regularly at multiple jobs to ensure she is wellrounded and gainfully employed. Julia is a young woman who does not settle for
being average. She uses exuberance, intelligence and motivation to reach new
levels.
She is a student who is destined to achieve much success, both
academically and personally. The opportunities for Julia Pusinelli are limitless. All
of these skills and unique abilities will then, in turn, make her an amazingly unique

teacher who genuinely cares and strives for the success and active learning of each
student fortunate enough to, one day, sit in her class.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Freeman
