Softball: 12 inches in circumference and 6.25-7.00 oz.

Bat Size
Baseball: A baseball bat has a shorter barrel and is thicker.
Softball: A softball bat has a longer barrel and is thinner.

Glove Size
Baseball: Gloves in baseball have a smaller net to catch
since the ball is smaller.
Softball: Gloves in softball have a larger net to catch since
the ball is bigger.

Helmets
Baseball: Helmets in baseball dont have require a face
mask.
Softball: Helmets in softball require a face mask on them.

Baseball: Has 9 innings.
Softball: Has 7 innings.

Stealing:
Baseball: When leading off to
steal in baseball you can lead
off at any time.
Softball: When leading off to
steal in softball you have to
stay on the base until the ball
leaves the pitchers hand.

FIELD DIFFERENCES
Field Shape & Size
Baseball: Played on a diamond shaped field with
dirt infield and grass outfield.
Softball: Played on a diamond shaped field as well
with dirt infield and grass outfield, but the
distance from home plate to the outfield fence is
a shorter distance because it is much harder to
hit a softball as far as a baseball.

Bases
Baseball: The distance between bases in baseball
are 90 feet apart.
Softball: The distance between bases in softball
are 60 feet apart.

Pitching Technique
Baseball: Is pitched overhand.
Softball: Is pitched underhand.

Pitching Mound
Baseball: The mound is raised
and is about 60 feet away from
home plate.
Softball: The mound is leveled
with home plate and is about
40 feet away.
