Enhancing the Quality of Life in Juno Beach

Beauty is truth, truth beautythat is all ye know on earth,
and all ye need to know.
-John Keats

Presidents Message

Winter has surely arrived, throwing a frosty cover on us with temperatures in the mid 40s. The icy vision of the Floridians bundled
up in ski jackets and gloves for our early morning walks is the chilly
mid-winter reality this year. Even our dogs are wrapped in flannel
jackets or sweaters! The snowbirds must really get a kick out of
seeing how we handle the cold.
2015 was brilliant from start to finish! Jeri Glynn, Membership, doubled Sponsor
and Member support; and Sofia Gill enhanced our newsletter with the Around Town
articles, introduced Sponsor Spotlight, and kept us updated on community news.
We are in good standing with managing our finances because of Lauren Flaherty,
Treasurer; and duly organized with Connie Van Iderstines energy and Ann OSheas
database skills. We would be at a loss without Jim Gills technical ability to lead the
website and Chris Bankers knowledge of Governance. Our graphic designer, Nancy
Pobiak, brings life and enthusiasm to every newsletter, invitation, banner, and program that she designs. I am energized and grateful to have the opportunity to be a part
of this amazing team!
In addition to these fantastic events: speaker and entertainment programs, the Shred
Fest, the April concert, the Fourth of July Breakfast and Parade on Wheels, the Sponsor Appreciation Breakfast with international keynote speaker, Simon T. Bailey, I
am so pleased to mention that we organized and completed our first quarterly Beach
Clean-UP. Amazingly, one hundred residents participated and collected almost 300
pounds of debris and garbage! This is the definition of working together for a common goal for the common good. We also began a Juno Beach Historic Film project
and concluded the year at the Waterfords auditorium for a holiday concert and presented Mayor Mort Levine with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Our theme for 2016 is Embracing Truth and the JBCA Board has pledged to deliver
civic programs and traditions that will inform as well as entertain. Presidents Day is
celebrated in February, and our Joy of Life Speaker Series opens with a presentation
by Attorney Ryon McCabe entitled the Top Ten Things You Dont Know About the
Constitution.
The JBCA mission is to enhance the quality of life in Juno Beach. Our goal this year
is to embrace truth and encourage civic pride. We are proud to be of service and we
hope that you will renew your membership and invite friends and neighbors to join
and participate in another great year. We love America and all she stands for, and we
love our community; for many of us, its a little piece of heaven.
We stand united and we sing together: Let freedom ring and may the spirit of America
continue to thrive!

May you always walk in beauty,

Donna Hamilton, President

Congratulations Mayor Mort Levine!

A Good and Great Man.
The JBCA Board proudly presented the prestigious Lifetime
Achievement Award to our beloved Mayor on December 3, 2015
at the Annual Holiday Concert held at the Waterford. Over one
hundred residents and friends were there to honor him and celebrate his life work and significant contributions to Juno Beach.
Mayor Levine has dedicated over 18 years of service to our Town
with various roles beginning with Planning & Zoning for nine years,
eight years on the Town Council and seven as our Mayor. Mayor
Levine loves our Town and has been vigilant to protect our property rights and he continuously searches for ways to save money
and advance the Town. His diversity of legal experience and stellar
background as a trial lawyer and counsel in every branch of government has contributed to the success of Juno Beach; he leads
with integrity, passion and commitment.
