1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.
(fantasy vs. reality)
Fantasy is that you get to play with puppies and kitties all day and the reality is that the dogs are normally
ill or old and typically need serious help. It is often overrated with sad realities.
2. What is your current educational level? What continuing education and training are required?

I have a bachelors degree and nothing extra is really required, however I and training for my masters degree, and
also training for search and rescue.
3. Please describe the typical day to day activities of someone working in your field.

There is lots of email checking, public speaking, and photo and documentation with social media.
4. How secure are you in your current position? What do you think is the future of your field?

Very strong job security, it is a very reliable job with lots of new growing non-profits to provide work for.
5. What is a typical (average or lowest to highest) salary of someone working in your field?

My typical average of pay is 45K a year.
6. What potential for growth is there in your field?
(growth potential)
There is lots of growth for my field because of all the growing non-profit organizations. They all need new
volunteer coordinators to assist them in the community outreach.

7. How would you advertise the need for more volunteers in your community?
Social media is the most productive way to get the peoples attention in this generation due to technology.
8. What is your most rewarding experience you feel you get through volunteering?
Its rewarding when others see what good youre doing for the community. I save the lives of many animals and
that is always rewarding to me.
9. What are other ways you volunteer other than what youre being interviewed for?
I am also apart of search and rescue team for the emergency care. I train the search and rescue dogs for those
injured or who go missing.
10. Do you recommend volunteering, and if so why?
Its rewarding and you can experience things so you will have a much more fulfilling life and can
experience both profession and hobbies.
