Scouts Shaped Identity
In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Scout, is a tiny girl with a big
life filled with many adventures. She is the daughter of Atticus Finch and sister of Jem
Finch.
Scout loves to tag along with Jem, her brother, and loves to get in situations that
are hard to get out of. She is kind of cooperative but doesnt always get along. On Her
first day of school, she was already fighting Walter Cunningham. That shows that she
might be little, but she is very vicious and is extraordinarily daring. She might seem a
little cold on the outside, but she is very nice and caring towards the people closest to
her. For example, Atticus, Jem, Dill, and Boo Radley. So overall, Scout has a very fullfilled life.
Her experiences throughout the novel, such as fighting all the time, getting in
rough situations, being attacked by Bob, and witnessing law cases, have really shaped
her. She has obviously been to a lot of places and participated in many events that it
reflects on to her and shapes her personality throughout the book. Being told by Atticus
that You never really a know man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them
(p.314) shows that she is shaped by that because she mentions her standing on the
Radley Porch was enough.

Scouts events in the book have showed me that peoples lives (such as Scouts)
are truly full filled and that the stuff you do around the people you do them with, really
shape the person someone is and what their personality consists of. For example, if
someone hangs out with a group of bad kids, it will reflect on the person that made the
decision to pick them because youre around them so much, that whenever youre with
them, and are usually under their influence.
So yes, Scouts decisions have shaped her as a young girl to the person she is.
Her personality and character make a difference in who she is in the book. They have
shaped her identity and created a person who is adventurous, curious, and has a very
brave soul with a daring attitude.
