ABSTRACT:
It has become clear that engineers must find alternative solution for
the energy crisis. One promising alternative utilizes technology whose
current applications an lights. This technology is known as piezoelectric
effect in which pressure can generate electricity.. Crystalline materials
produce small amount of electricity when a force is applied that changes
their shape in some way. These are called piezoelectric materials. Quartz
is an example of piezoelectric substance. When small amounts of pressure
are applied to a quartz crystal, a small voltage is produce from changing
the charge created by the moving electron. The piezoelectric effect can be
used to harvest the energy used in walking to help reduce the impact of
electricity generation on the environment. The piezoelectric effect
identifies most closely with the conference topic area of energy.
