School Counseling Program Mission Statement


The mission of Eastlakes comprehensive counseling and guidance program is to
provide a vehicle of assistance to students in acquiring and using life-long learning
skills. We are committed to implementing a proactive and preventative program, which
employs strategies to enhance student academic success, provide career awareness,
and develop employment readiness. Encourage self-awareness, foster interpersonal
communication skills and impart life success skills, all in collaboration and support from
teachers, administration, parents and the community.
School Counseling Program Goals
The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance,
behavior and parental and/or community engagement goals this year. Details of
activities promoting these goals are found in the curriculum, small group and closingthe-gap action plans.

1 By the end of the 2016 school year we will have a 3% increase in students

Use of Time
I plan to spend the following percentage of my time delivering the components of the
school counseling program. All components are required for a comprehensive school
counseling program.
Advisory Council
The school counseling advisory council will meet on the third Thursday of the month in
the main offices conference room.
