To pilot teaching/learning situations that are appropriate to the students
concerned and to the subject content with a view to developing the
competencies targeted in the programs of study.

S.M.A.R.T Goal: To pilot dynamic, interactive genuine learning


situations that engage my diverse students needs and learning styles.
Strategies:
Incorporate game-based learning to enhance problem solving
and appeal to tactile kinaesthetic learners
To plan a 30-minute lesson following by 45-minute dynamic
activity that solidifies the lessons curriculum content
To explore content in an alternative fashion

3. Competency of focus- Classroom Teaching
To pilot teaching/learning situations that are appropriate to the students
concerned and to the subject content with a view to developing the
competencies targeted in the programs of study.

S.M.A.R.T- Goal: To build in notes skeletons (graphic organizers) to


lessons in order to facilitate the organization of ideas and the ease of
information retrieval. By implementing this instructional adaptation for
all the students I will be teaching them using a scaffolding method how
to take notes and organize important content.
Strategies:

Provide each student with a graphic organizer at the


beginning of class.
Post graphic organizer on my website along with the notes to
help students who were absent.

Use different formats for graphic organizers so that students


associate different types of content with the graphic organizer
that best suits it. (fishbone, timeline etc.)

Ensure that the content to be filled in is clearly displayed on


the board and that there is enough space for students with
fine motor difficulties.

Description of Activities:
We may take a day or a half-day to work on the portfolio. I am trying to
coordinate with the other new teachers to see if we can find a day that
works for all of use so we can support each other throughout the
process.
