Teacher presentation:
1. Teacher will review before use of I-Pad the sounds of all letterlanders by singing
the letterland song. She will also point to the alphabet chart and point to letters out
of order for students to sound out.
2. All students participating in the activity by using the I-Pad will have access to
practice the use of the letterland program and will be able to repeat at least 3
sounds to the correct letter.
3. Teacher will introduce the program to the students by modeling the steps. She will
use a smartboard to show the students how to navigate through the program.
Students should first put their headphones and pick up their electronic pencils.
The teacher will let students know that they need to complete the whole program
before jumping to the next. Teachers will give an example by completing the first
letter and hitting the next button when that section is completed. Ex. Trace the
letter A and a. Then listen to the sound said after. Once this is done, hit the right
arrow to go to letter Bb.
4. As students set up, the teacher will stay close to students and assist all students to
complete the activity. She will do so by hand on hand practice with the pencil or
encouraging the student to say out loud the sounds they hear.
