-Only one student coming in needs full-time EA support
-One student coming in from grade 8 that is blind
-Accommodated and modified numbers to be determined by next meeting

Agenda item 2: Jacob

Jacob is on a 5 day suspension. He had a rough start and it took a while to develop
relationships with Jacob. Some days he is ready and willing to work and others he is
completely shut down and does nothing. Our concern is academics and keeping his selfesteem intact. Resource Teacher A has been in touch with mom once a week for the past
several weeks. We are concerned about his progress. Resource teacher A will check with his
other teachers about what needs to be completed. Will discuss again at next meeting.

Agenda item 3: Provincial English Language Proficiency Assessment

-Discussed four students that were unsuccessful on the ELPA assessment in grade 11 and
will need to do it again next year in order to graduate.

Agenda item 4: Brad

Brad is a student who has been out since March. He is a high honors and level 1 student
who suddenly started to withdraw from friends and interests. Brad was on sports teams and

student council. Since March, he has stopped coming to school all together. The doctor
thinks this is due to anxiety and depression. Parents think it also has to do with sleep. His
parents cant get him to come to school at all. At first, he was keeping up on his school work
in all subjects, but recently has stopped doing all of his work. He is still doing some work in
English. Brads English teacher is finding it hard to continually send home work for Brad
without him doing any of the assessments.
Going forward:
-We would like to see him get his English 11 credit
-We have mentioned home hospital tutoring, but they did not seem interested
-Can he challenge the exam for credit? If so, a teacher will go to his home during exam
period and supervise him while he writes the exam.
-Principal will call district head and inquire about this situation

Agenda item 5: Exams

-The department heads have been asked to check over all exams. Due date to check exams
over is June 1st. The department heads were reminded to remind teachers in their
department about accommodated and modified versions of their exams.
-Educational Support Services can make a tentative list of students who are exempted from
exams and verify lists with individual teachers. Resource SPR will begin to build exam pull
out schedule of students who need to write in an alternate location during exam week.
