I believe that it honestly depends on where the

groups are located. For example, the west
it makes sense to wonder which
side of the United States where Los Angeles is
economic group - the rich or the poor - is the located the rich economic group would be the
greater inheritor of happiness.
greater inheritor of happiness due to how
much fame and fortune is already there. On
the other hand, if you live in the south no one
really looks at the rich as having the greater
happiness, but to the group of people that live
their lives to the fullest and do not feel the
need to have a great deal of money alongside
them.

the possibility happiness led to wealth,
rather than the other way around.

This quote made me re-read and re-read again

because it got me thinking a lot. If happiness
led to wealth would not the average people
that are wealthy and happy be more than if
wealth led to happiness. Think about it, the
average person that is happy due to wealth
decreases as their life goes on because they
see that wealth cannot truly make a person
happy for a prolonged period of time. If the
person is happy in their life and then they
stumbled upon a great fortune of money then,
I believe, that person would understand the
quality of life better than a person who had
wealth before money does and be more
happier.

Wealth is, in part, also about your desires.

Page 172 - Paragraph 2

Having high aspirations is not always bad,
especially if they match your level of
income.

I believe this is true because when I think

about my future and what I want to be with
my life, I take into consideration the money
that I would get from that job. Dont get me
wrong, I am thinking about what I want to do
with my life, my desires, but money does play
a little part in that factor. I want to be able to
be happy with my job and not have to worry
about the possibility of having to get a side job
just to be well off with money. I want my
desired work to have the benefit of good
money too.
I have big dreams and goals that I hope to
accomplish one day. Go back to the
Dominican Republic, live in a nice
neighborhood, etc. I was raised that money is
not everything and that God will help you
through the bad times. I still believe this, I
just see that some of my goals are selfish and
that God would not be pleased or want to help
me achieve some of the aspirations I have.
That is where the income comes into play.
Like I have previously stated, I want to be
happy with my job and still make a decent
amount, but I do not see my job matching my
aspirations because my aspirations are most
likely going to be higher than my income at
some points in life.

Although many people enjoy their work,
too much of it can harm happiness if the
person then has little time left for family and
friends.

Some readers still may not be convinced
that heavily valuing money is toxic to
happiness.

I had not really thought of this until reading it

to myself. I believe this could be very true for
most cases, but I, also, believe I have a rare
case. I am the type of person that when they
are passionate about something or enjoy
something I want to keep at it until the task is
done, no matter what. I am, also, the type of
person that will make time for everything that
needs to be done in a day and for everything
that I want to do to be done in a day. I do not
let one aspect take the reins of my life and
determine the next thing I do. I believe this to
be a good quality and some may just call me a
busy-bee or people-pleaser, but that is who I
am.
I do believe that if someone is overbearingly
valuing money over everything and everyone
in their life that it will be toxic to their level of
happiness. I do believe that I value money,
but not to the crazy extent that was talked
about in this chapter where the people needed
more constantly even after being millionaires.
I know how to balance my wants and desires
ion life and if they are getting out of control to
simply fill my life with something new to
distract my mind from wandering back to
needed or wanting more money to go towards
my wants and selfish desires.
