Introduction
For this project, I will be creating ideas for three logos for Swift Creek Fabrication, which
manufactures steel for skyscrapers. These logos will need to be aesthetically pleasing, modern,
and need to imply, green design, safety and quality. This will be achieved by using mainly color,
but also the other elements and principles of art and typography.
Goals
The main goals of this projects are:
1. Create 3 logo options for Swift Creek Fabrication
2. Create a modern looking logo
3. Use color theory to depict safety, quality, and green design
4. Create a clean looking logo

Client
Our client is Swift Creek Fabrication company.
Scope
To start, I will use the Adobe Illustrator software to create the logo. The project will be
sent as an Adobe PDF document (.pdf) This project will be completed by January 22, 2016 at
11:59 p.m. The first step on the program will be to first create an artboard. Then I will use the
text tool to create a thicker, sturdy, modern font type. I will use the company names initials
(SC) to keep it more simple and clean. An illustration of a skyscraper may be incorporated into
the logo depending on how it affects the clean look of the logo. The color blue will be
incorporated in the logo to represent safety and security. The shade of blue will be lighter
because of the word Creek in the company name because creeks usually are thought of as
lighter blue and not dark blue. Green will also be implemented to imply the green design goal of
the logo. The green will also be lighter to co-exist better with the lighter blue. Simplicity is the
key to cleanliness, so the logo will be kept very simple and sturdy-looking to represent stability.
Symmetry will be used to enhance the feeling of stability.
Target Audience
The target audience will be construction companies, mainly the materials managers of
companies who build skyscrapers. So this company will target urban areas with skyscrapers
rather than suburban areas.
Limitations/Constraints
The constraints of this include: The timeline (due on January 22nd), copyright (logos of
other companies), complexity, readability, location (where it is most effective) color use, and font
type (modern).

Timeline
This project must be completed by January 22nd, 2016, before 11:59 p.m. However, the
analyze and designing part of this logo design must be completed before 11:59 p.m. on January
18, 2016.
Storyboards

This is the first of the three logo ideas, using the blue for security and safety, and green
for the green design. The font Brush Script MT Italic was used to depict the modern font,
simplicity and the Swift part of the company name. The blue had 100% Cyan and 27%
Magenta with 0% Yellow or Black. The green had 100% Yellow and 63% cyan with no
black or magenta.

This logo idea also incorporated the green and blue with the same CMYK code as the
above logo idea. However this logo uses. Bank Goth Medium BT as a more square and
sturdy looking logo.
This logo also uses the green and blue as before with the same CMYK codes for each.
The yellow had 5% Cyan and 100% yellow with no black or magenta. These Two letters
use the font Mesquite std Medium as a tall, bold font. This font also has the shape of a

tower/building which is pointed out by the yellow squares which look like windows in a

tower, to show that they help with building skyscrapers.
