Poetry Write On: Black Out Poetry

Any piece of writing can be turned into poetry. Think about it, writing is just words. All words
can be turned into poetry.
In this activity, we will be able to take a random piece of text and turn it into something poetic.
How so? Were going to black out all the boring stuff.
Directions: Take a random piece of writing (I will provide). Your task is to underline any words
you think would look good in a poem. Keep underlining until you have reached the end of the
passage. Once you know for sure that the words you have chosen is your poem, black out the
rest. You can be as creative as you please. This is due as soon as youre done but no later than
April 28. (you have 2 weeks)
