Biography

Ever heard of the well-known play called


Romeo and Juliet? Do you know who wrote it?
Well, it actually was one man named William
Shakespeare. He was a writer that was known
around the world and still is today. He has even
been named the greatest writer in the English
language, and has had the honor of being
England's national poet. He was born in April
1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom,
and his career started in 1590.
His parents were John Shakespeare, and Mary Shakespeare. His
father even started a business in Stratford. His business dealt with
trading in wool, malt and corn. On the other hand, his mother was a
member of the church even served as the seventh daughter, and
late marrying another farmer named Angus Hill, with the adding 4
more stepchildren to the Shakespeares.. For example in the text,
The parents of William it states, The major thing that the Bard's
Mother and Father had in common was that both the Shakespeare's
and the Ardens were staunch Catholics. Even with his rising career
he still had a loving wife named Anne Hathaway
from 15821616 and later had three children
named Hamnet Shakespeare, Susanna Hall, and
Judith Quiney. Some of his most known pieces
were Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and
Julius Caesar. He was so famous that his plays
had been translated into every major language of
the world. In fact the passage, William
Shakespeare states He is the most widely read
of all Authors and the popularity of the Life and Works of
Shakespeare, in English speaking countries, is second only to the
Bible.. But Shakespeare often wrote his plays on his own, he had
the helps of Wilkins, Middleton, and Fletcher. His play were
translated into 37 different languages, and in 2012 it was recorded
that in London over 85,000 tickets were sold to Shakespeare's play,
showing that he still in fact making a difference in our history!
His early plays were primarily comedies and histories, and
these are regarded as some of the best work ever produced in these

genres. He began a successful career in London as an actor, writer,


and part-owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's
Men, but then wanted to continue his true passion. But did you
know that Queen Elizabeth and King James also loved the theater
and enjoyed drama. If fact they even funded theaters throughout
London, including the theater i which Shakespeare played in. But
Queen Elizabeth noticed Shakespeare,
noticing his brilliant works. Overtime
Queen Elizabeth shared great respect
for him. Shakespeare has written at
least 37 plays and collaborated on
several more. For example in the text,
Shakespeare Resources Center ,
states that, Shakespeare's
accomplishments are apparent when
studied against other playwrights of
this age. His company was the most successful in London in his day.
He had plays published and sold in octavo editions, or "pennycopies" to the more literate of his audiences. Over the course of
20 years, Shakespeare wrote plays that captured the complete
range of human emotion and conflict. But on the 23rd of April,
1616, his 52nd birthday, William Shakespeare died. He was buried in
Holy Trinity Church in Stratford, the same place he was baptized.
Finally, it may be concluded that Shakespeare had a great talent, a
skill that gave rise to him being one of the greatest poets and
writers in the world, and because of this, it has changed our history
and our literature forever!
