September 26,

Malice in Maycomb?
by: Carl Schwartz

Wednesday morning September

23, 1933, Arthur Radley was
arrested on charges of bank
robbery, murder, and identity theft.
Arthur Radley has been revealed
as the esteemed Baleful Boo
Bandit charged with robbing a
total of 43 banks with his crew of
accomplices. Upon investigation in
Maycomb County, many of the
residents have reported that Arthur
Radley has not been seen outside
of his house for nearly twenty
years, due to misdemeanor as a
minor. According to a statement
taken from key witness Miss
Stephanie Crawford, I woke up
one night and saw him staring
straight through the window at me.
His face was like that of a skulls,
and his hands seemingly coated in
blood. The Maycomb police
instantly became suspicious, as a
skull mask was the mark of the
Baleful Boo Bandit. It was this
first report that led police to
investigate the actions of Arthur
Radley. Upon police investigation,
it appeared that no proof of
trespassing could be found on
Arthur Radleys name. It was only
one day a few weeks later when a
stamped banknote from the
recently robbed Bank of Alson

Wednesday morning)
County, Mississippi was used by Mr.
Radley senior, that the Maycomb
police received a warrant to search
the Radley house. Thus, the morning
of the police search was also the
morning of Arthur Radleys arrest. In
a released statement made by
Officer Connor, We found several
crates of stolen cash, along with a
single subject; Arthur Radley. Upon
further examination, it was clear that
there were no other inhabitants of
the home, and Arthur Radley was
taken to the station for questioning.
After several hours of interrogation,
the Maycomb police received a full
confession from Arthur Radley. Arthur
had been taking residence in his
parents home for several years after
he had murdered them, using it as
his criminal base. The rest of Arthurs
accomplices in his crimes have been
identified as the members of the
gang from his teenage years.
Arthurs hoax story of banishment
inside of his house has served as a

successful cover story and alibi.

However, with the absence of
Arthurs parents in Maycomb for
several years, it raises the
question of how many residents
report of seeing Mr. Radley
Senior come to town daily for
several years. Though Arthur
and
his
mother
were
mysteriously never seen in
Maycomb, their family was well
respected and their actions
never questioned. Upon further
questioning of Boo Radley, it
was revealed that the Mr.
Radley that the community had
reportedly seen was truly Arthur
himself, posing as his father.
Arthur regularly impersonated
his fathers image to ensure that
he could continue living in
Maycomb
without
raising
suspicion. Police reveal that
upon this confession, further
charges have been pressed for
identity theft and murder as
well. Boo Radley now will face
the law Friday, October first. No
longer will the residents of
Maycomb be in danger of living
near a criminal, and no longer
will the truth be denied to them.
