EFFECT HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY OF TOTAL NEUTROPHIL ON 5TH DAYS
WOUND HEALING IN THE WHITE MALE RATS WISTAR Pradita Mayhendra Jaya Every wound, the body attempt to restoring the components of the damaged tissue by forming new structures and functionally the same as the previous state. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can stimulate the production of bone marrow, increase the production of leukocytes including neutrophils, which is mediated by CSF on bone marrow. Resulting occur increase in the number of neutrophils in the blood, because expenses pile up of leukocytes in the bone marrow and increased formation of leukocytes in the bone marrow. The purpose of this study to determining hyperbaric oxygen therapy can increase the number of blood neutrophils in wound healing on 5 th days in white male Wistar rats. This study uses a post-test only control group design conducted at the Laboratory of Biochemistry Faculty of Medicine, University of Hang Tuah Surabaya and in Lakesla, Naval Hospital Dr.Ramelan Surabaya. Sixteen rats (Rattus norvegicus) male Wistar strain were divided into 2 groups: a group of experimental animals with a wound without being given hyperbaric oxygen therapy and animal groups with a wound given hyperbaric oxygen therapy. After 5th days of treatment, examination of blood neutrophil number in each group. The mean animal groups with a wound without being given X hyperbaric therapy ( = 26,63) and a group of experimental animals with a wound X given hyperbaric oxygen therapy ( = 33,88). Results of Mann-Whitney test showed no significant difference (P<0,05) between groups of experimental animals with a wound without being given hyperbaric oxygen therapy and animal groups with a wound given hyperbaric oxygen therapy (P = 0.342). So it can be concluded that there was no statistically significant difference, but there is a trend increase in the number of neutrophils in the mean of a group of animals try with a wound 5th days without being given hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound group of experimental animals by wound 5 th days were given oxygen therapy hyperbaric.
