LEBANON HS JROTC AWARDS

To ensure ribbon awards are uniformly designed, DA has approved 36 designs


(Appendix L) that will be made based on criteria specified in Appendix M and by
subordinate commanders. These designs are divided into four series:
(1) Academic awards: 10 designs.
(2) Military awards: 15designs.
(3) Athletic awards: 5 designs.
(4) Miscellaneous awards: 6 designs.
The order of merit of these awards, by series, is academic, military, athletic, and
miscellaneous. The order of merit within a series is determined by the last digit of the
numerical designations
Multiple awards of any ribbon or medal will be designated with a lamp device
as follows: 2nd award, bronze lamp; 3rd award, silver lamp; 4th award, gold
lamp; 5th award, one gold lamp and one bronze lamp; 6th award, one gold lamp
and one silver lamp; 7th award, two gold lamps; and so on. (In no case will
more than one of the same ribbon, medal or medallion be worn).

Distinguished Cadet
Awarded annually to one cadet who exhibits the highest degree of excellence in scholastics.

Academic Excellence
Awarded annually to one cadet in each LET level for maintaining highest school academic
grades.

Academic Achievement
Awarded annually to those cadets who maintain a grade of "A" in all academic subjects.

Perfect Attendance
Awarded to cadets with no unexcused absence during each quarter/semester.

Student Government
Awarded to cadets elected to a student government office.

JROTC Physical Fitness


Awarded annually to cadets who maintain excellent physical fitness. Male cadets must run one
mile in 8:30 minutes or less females in 10:45 minutes or less.

DAI/SAI Instructor Leadership


Awarded annually to one cadet per LET level who displays the highest degree of leadership.

Personal Appearance
Awarded annually to cadets who consistently present an outstanding appearance.

Proficiency
Awarded annually to cadets who have demonstrated an exceptionally high degree of leadership,
academic achievement, and performance of duty.

Drill Team
Awarded to cadets who are on a drill team the entire season and remain in good standing all
year.

Orienteering
Awarded annually to cadets who have been a member of the orienteering teams for one year.

Color Guard
Awarded annually to members of the color/honor guard who have been on the Color Guard for at
least one year.

Rifle Team
Awarded annually to rifle team members who have competed in at least two NWDRC
competitions.

Adventure Training
Awarded annually to cadets who are members of adventure training type units.

Commendation Ribbon
Awarded to cadets whose performance of duty exceptionally exceeds that expected of a cadet of
his grade and experience.

Good Conduct
Awarded annually to cadets who have demonstrated outstanding conduct throughout the school
year.

Awarded to cadets who attended JCLC at Camp Rilea.

Parade Ribbon
Awarded to cadets who have participated in at least one local community parade (Veterans' Day

Awarded annually to Cadet Staff Officers for excellent performance.

Academic Achievement Insignia.


Insignia will be furnished at government expense for wear by cadets in the top 10 percent of each
ROTC class based on grades earned in ROTC subjects as determined by the Bn Cdr. The
insignia will be worn on issue or cadet type uniforms during the academic term following that in
which the grades were earned.

Marksmanship Badges

JROTC marksmanship qualification badges will be worn centered on the flap of the
left breast pocket of the class A uniform coat or class B uniform shirt, or in a similar
location on the distinctive Cadet-type uniform blouse. Only the latest award will be
worn. Qualification standards are at Appendix N of CC 145-2.

Shoulder Cords

Color Guard/Honor Guard White


Represents a current member of one of the color guards. This cord is always
worn on the right shoulder.

Drill Team Red


Represents a current member of one of the drill teams. This cord is always worn
on the right shoulder.

Marksmanship Tan
Represents a current member of one of the rifle teams. This cord is always worn
on the right shoulder.

Orienteering Activities Green


Represents a current member of one of the orienteering teams. This cord is
always worn on the right shoulder.

Physical Training Team (Raider) Black


Represents a current member of one of the raider team. This cord is always worn
on the right shoulder.

Honor Organizations & Societies Gold

ARC PINS

Presented to JROTC members who participated in JCLC

Color Guard/Honor Guard White


Presented to members of Color Guards A and B for competing two of the NWDRC competition or
qualifying for the championship meet, or Color Guard C after being on the color guard for one
year and performing at least five color guard events

Drill Team Red


Presented to members of the drill team, armed or unarmed, for competing in two of the NWDRC
competition or qualifying for the championship meet. Can also be presented to JROTC members
who compete in DAED or DUED events at the NWDRC competition.

Rifle Team (Marksmanship Activities) Tan


Presented to members of the rifle team for competing in at least two of the NWDRC competition
or qualifying for the championship meet.

Academic Competition Team Yellow


Presented to members of the Academic Team members for qualifying for the third round in
Washington DC in the Academic Bowl.

Honor Roll Blue


Presented to JROTC members who are make the school honor roll anytime during the school
year.

Summer Camp Brown


Presented to JROTC members who participated in spring or summer camp other than JCLC

Orienteering Team Green

Raider Team Black


Presented to members of the Raider Team for competing in at least two of the NWDRC
competition or qualifying for the championship meet.

School Band Blue


Presented to JROTC Cadets who are also members of the Lebanon High School Band.
