transaminases (2,4,5). Coagulation profiles become progressively more

bleeding and melena supervene from day 4 onward. In those most
affected, multiple organ system failure and death ensue. Mortality is high,
particularly with the filoviruses where Marburg has a fatality rate of 30%,
Ebola Zaire 81-88%, with Ebola Ivory Coast
