I served as Patricia’s cooperating teacher during her student teaching experience at Lackawanna Trail Jr/Sr High School. Patricia has a level of maturity and self-confidence that I have rarely seen in a new teacher. She taught one Honors World History and three World History classes. Patricia arrived eager to begin teaching, and getting to work with students. She ‘wanted to experience every possible situation from developing lessons, creating activities, grading assignments, and managing a classroom. Itis clear from my time with Patricia that she has a complete grasp of the subject matter. One of the things that most impresses me about Patricia is her genuine love of and respect for our subject matter. She is a professional wko works hard at making history accessible, relevant, fun, and come alive through stories and examples for students of all ability levels. Patricia immigrated to the U.S. from Portugal which students and I found fascinating in learning her unique perspective of the U.S. culture and that of Portugal. Patticia is proficient in the use of technologies that are a necessary part of our modern classrooms. She had the opportunity to work with and develop lessons for the Promethean Board, and became familiar with our online grading system.
