1999- Gap Inc. has agreed to pay more than $500,000,
400 employees in the lawsuit, settle a class-action lawsuit
involving allegations of racial discrimination against
African American workers at its distribution warehouse in
Gallatin, Tenn.
2011- National Labor Committee, a US-based NGO,
issued a report on working conditions at the Ocean Sky
factory in El Salvador poor working conditions, wages and
overtime pay issues, with many other human rights under
the Fair Labor Association (FLA) violated.
2013- Bangladesh, the company violated is own Code of
Vendor Conduct (COVC) with thousands of people forced
in unfair working conditions and global human rights are
being violated.
2014- Video - Cambodia: "From Sex Workers to Human
Trafficking: The High Cost of Cheap Clothes" shows signs
of involvement in international labor in many countries.
2015-Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic ZIP Code Class
Action Settlement is protected under the Song-Beverly
Credit Card Act of 1971, customers personal information
used inappropriately.
Current- California's Labor Code The lawsuit, entitled
Wells, et al. v. Old Navy, LLC, et al., is currently pending
in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Case No.

The only way it is possible to Old Navy to uphold their mission statement they
must employee the best workers.

BACKGROUND

Old Navy was founded in 1994 by Don and


Doris Fisher, the company was born from
trying to reinvent their take on fashion.
The Gap was their first company that
started in 1960 , from the simple act of
Don needing to find jeans that fit him
properly. Old Navys aim is to provide
Affordable Fashion essentials for the
entire family. The only way it is possible
to Old Navy to uphold their mission
statement they must employee the best
workers. Old Navy prides itself on hiring
the best staff that includes having a
diverse group of people. Old Navy has a
deep desire to uphold diversity to its
highest positions. From the beginning of

training each employee is trained to look


for diversity and to welcome it. Old Navy
has a strict discrimination policy that is
used to ensure that diversity is front and
forward in the company. Diversity to Old
Navy means employing people regardless
of race, gender, religion, sex or sexual
orientation. There are many checks put
into the hiring system to ensure that
diversity standards are met with the
sensitivity that they need.
