To Whom It May Concern;
I am seeking a part-time job during summer months after I graduate from university
at the beginning of July, 2016. I am hoping to obtain a teaching job somewhere beginning
in September, however if that does not happen, or I could be assured that I could work
past the summer months, I would be willing to become fulltime. I am available 5 days a
week and weekends if necessary. Unlike most students, my school year extends further
than April, as I am doing my Bachelor of Education and it is a two year program that is
condensed into one. Although the date which I can begin work is later than most students
and may hinder my job opportunity, I feel that I have same valuable experience that I
could contribute to the workplace.
For the previous four summers I have been an employee of Old Dutch Foods. My first
three summers at the plant consisted of packing chips for up to 60 hours a week on an
evening shift. In my most recent summer at Old Dutch Foods, I began working in the
office where I completed several research projects for the plant. For two months, I
worked with Microsoft Excel, where I frequently used numbers and employee data from
several previous years at the plant to conduct an investigation for the Human Resource
Department. Furthermore, I had been vigorously trained in the Sales Coordination
Department of Old Dutch, where I worked for 3 and a half weeks doing sales
coordination for the plant while the regulars were on vacation. With this position, I had to
be timely, accurate, able to put my math skills to use, handle frequent telephone calls
from persons within the plant (shipping) and outside resources (drivers, businesses
looking for shipments, ect). I was required to deal with funds, use proper judgement,
correctly and efficiently do and file several counts of paperwork on a daily basis, all
while communicating collaboratively with others in the plant.
By the time I graduate in July, I will have completed five full years of university.
Within these five years, I have developed a definite sense of linguistic skills, math skills,
social skills, and above all a strong will to achieve and do my best. I am a fast learner
and do not take offence to constructive criticism. I am looking to gain experience in the
professional world and am looking for the opportunity to do so.
I have extensive experience with children of all ages. I have volunteered in an
elementary school all through university, as well as completed two teaching internships in
an elementary school. I have worked with children of all different backgrounds, ranging
from ESL students to students who are on all different levels of the spectrum. I am very
familiar with autism and all that comes with supporting children who are autistic on many
different levels. I very much enjoy doing so and would like to have more experience with
this.

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
English speaking
Years of experience in interpersonal jobs and volunteer experience
Energetic, hardworking, organized
Great at multitasking, able to follow directions thoroughly
Enjoy working as a team or independently
Fast learner

I have previously worked for The Village of Bath for many years, as a lifeguard,

I was constantly working with children; teaching them swimming lessons, first aid and
helping them improve their strength. This job also required much interaction with others
