ServicesExamination.ThischangewilltakeeectfromESE2017onwards.
Quiteobviously,ItisamaerofcuriosityforESEaspirantsastohowthesechangeswillturn
upforthem.So,Iampresentingananalysisoftheannouncedsyllabusalongwiththechange
inpreparationstrategyitdemands.

Whatarethechanges?
1.A3stageexaminationascomparedtotheprevious2stageexaminationInsteadof
continuous3daysexaminationconsistingofobjective+subjectivepapers,itwillbehaving
separatepapersintwostagespossiblyspacedby23months.Moreover,eligibilityforstage
IIrequiresqualicationinstageI.ThispaernisbasicallysimilartothatofCivilServices
Examhavingaprelimsandamainspaperafterwhichthepersonalitytestistaken.

2.Technicalobjectivepapersreducedfrom2to1Asingletechnicalobjectivepaperwill
replacethecurrenttwotechnicalobjectivepapers.Thispaperwillbepossiblytakenonthe

coveredinasingleobjectivepaperascomparedtoearliertwopapers.
3.ChangedstructureandsyllabusoftheGeneralAptitudepaperThepaperisnownamed
asGeneralStudiesandEngineeringAptitudePaper.Basically,ithasremovedtheGeneral
EnglishandConventionalGeneralStudies(Polity,Geographyetc)fromthesyllabus,butit
hasaddedalotofothertopics.Thenewlyaddedtopicsare
EngineeringAptitudecoveringLogicalreasoningandAnalyticalability
EngineeringMathematicsandNumericalAnalysis
GeneralPrinciplesofDesign,Drawing,ImportanceofSafety
StandardsandQualitypracticesinproduction,construction,
