In EDT 421 Classroom Management we were introduced to Dr. Harry Wongs popular text. This
text included published research from Miamis Dr. Douglas Brooks, AYA Professor in the
Department of Teacher Education.

Building Management Plan
n

I collaborated with a team of peers to design a presentation that would encompass important
information from my EDT 421 course, Harry Wongs text First Days of School, and content from
my field placements to help aid me in student teaching and entry year placements. This
Building Management Plan includes guidelines for the first day of school, recommendations for
managing the critical contexts of instructional sessions and functional responses to student
disruptions.

TeachLive
n

TeachLive is an interactive system that allows participating students to interact with moderator
managed avatars to practice and introduce lesson components. This simulation allowed me to
practice classroom management skills in real time as well as gain experience with keeping my
students engaged and lesson pacing.

Ohio Writing Project Workshop

Attended an Ohio Writing Project workshop where I collaborated with fellow educators and
discussed best practices and new teaching techniques that are to be applied in the English
Language Arts classroom.
