People in every country have special celebrations. Are you celebrating something soon?
Here in Germany we celebrate Carnival on the first
Monday in February. We put on masks and red
noses and wear funny clothes. Today were having
a party at school. Later were watching the parade.
I cant wait to catch the sweets people throw from
decorated cars.

Today were celebrating Loy Krathong. Its a very
popular festival in Thailand. It happens at the end
of the rainy season to apologise to water for
making it dirty. The festival starts in the evening
when theres a full moon in the sky. We decorate
rafts (krathongs) with flowers and candles. We light
the candles and put the rafts on the river. We
believe they carry away bad luck and we start a
new life.
