CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES

I.

Qualification :
1. This Contest is OPEN to all school elementary teachers and pupils in palo.
2. An accomplished ENTRY FORM must be submitted to the Tourism Culture and the Arts Office in
Palo , Leyte not later than December 10 , 2015 with the endorsement of their respective heads of the
schools and organizations.
3. All competing groups must abide by the Contest Rules and Regulations herein specified and such others
that may be implemented later.
4. A maximum of Six (6) participating groups will be chosen from among who submitted their script and
passed the screening by the Organizing Committee.

II.

Specific Rules :
1. A group must be composed of al least 5 to 10 performers.
2. The production or play must harmonize according to this years Palo Christmas festival theme:
Duaw ha Palo, Lamrag Han Pasko
3. Entries Must incorporate Music, Vocal, Dance and other Artistic Elements.
4. The time Allotted for each production is 10 minutes with five-minutes grace period. Any production
that exceeds 15 minutes will have a penalty of one (1) point per one minutes deducted from the total
score. Musical play, one-act play, and dance-drama will be considered.
5. Each school or organization shall be permitted three minutes to set up its play and two minutes to strike.
Set up and/or strike time should not be used to extend the overall playing time of 15 minutes.
6. All productions or plays must go through critiquing conducted by the Technical Working Group of
Kasadyaan Kultura Leytea. Any production or plays that have not been reviewed, evaluate, or
critique by the TWG will be automatically disqualified.
7. All performers or plays must be void of profanity, vulgarity, nudity and obscenity. use of these will
automatically result to disqualification.
8. Entries must be original work that has not been published, produced professionally, and has no been
under any binding contract. Rights of the submitted work must be owned and controlled by the author
of the script.
9. All participating groups are required to attend the drawing of lots and blocking rehearsal on the
schedule dated on December 21, 2015, at 9:00 oclock in the morning at the Palo Pag-ibig Plaza.
FAILURE to attend will AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFY the group.
10. One (1) day acting workshop for FREE to be conducted by the KASKU upon the request of the
participating group.
11. Fare to and from the contest venue and food of the group shall be done by the sponsoring organization.
12. The description of the board judges shall be deemed FINAL and INAPPEALBLE.

III.

The Judging Criteria are as follows:

(Interpretation of Script, Story line / Effective presentation of conflict &
resolution / Thematic Calrity)
15% Overall Audience awareness / Appropriateness of style/Pace of play
30%
