Go Pro.*
5-10 minutes.
Brief.
You have been tasked by Happy Hour Productions to make a short film
or advert show casing the many abilities of the Go Pro. You must be
creative and use the camera in interesting and new ways people
havent seen before. You must show off its toughness and
versatility.
The advert must be between 4 and 7 minutes long and must appeal to
young people aged 17 to 30. The advert will be shown on the Go-Pro
YouTube channel, the Go-Pro website and on TV channels like national
geographic and discovery.
This must be of professional quality and only use go pro to film.
In order to keep the advert interesting you must try to film as many
different sports or activities as possible as this will make more
people interested. The film must follow the conventions of existing
pieces so you have to film it like a GoPro ad. You must also include
a little bit of information on what youre doing using a voice over.

Script.
Scene 1 fades in with footage from go pros of skating and cycling
Narrator 1
Go pros? Yeah their dead handy.
Narrator 2
Just rugged and reliable.
Narrator 1
Anyone can use one, just clip it on and hit record.
Narrator 3
Amount of times Ive bailed and hit the deck, your bike can be in 6 different pieces, your bones
broken but you look over at the Go Pro and its still recording.
Narrator 2
If I can go there I can film there. My Go-Pro goes where I go.
Scene 1 fades out as music come in through a 15 second slow fade in. as it gets louder the footage
starts to cut to the beat as it gets faster the footage gets more exciting. We see motorbikes and even
footage from a plane.
As the ending fades in the music gets quieter and the footage fades to black, we see a go pro and the
logo. A slogan comes on screen.
Narrator 1
Where ever you go, Go-PRO.

Another thing to consider is the fact that the audience may be seen as primarily male, this could be
because of all the action and fast paced sports and activities. This could drive away the female
demographic away and thus loose viewers. So how could I get past this gender bias, well I will be
sure to have female actors and cast in my shots as there are many females who enjoy the same
activities as the male demographic. These are issues I will have to tread carefully but I dont believe
the gender game will effect the demographic to much as I am appealing to a certain type of people,
people with active lifestyles and this is something that sets level plain for any gender as it is a
lifestyle choice rather than a gender based one. People who like going faster than a car downhill on a
small wheeled plank controlled by nothing other than ones own body weight, generally do so
regardless of their chromosomes.
Deformation is a thing that I dont think I will have to worry about to much as many of the actors and
cast are my friends and thus will be unbothered as to how they are shown in the video. Just for
examples sake tough I think I should cover some imagined scenarios. Some of the cast I use may be
unhappy in the way the video makes them look to viewers. If this imagined individual felt for some
unexplained reason that the way I filmed could damage their public reputation. For example if we
were filming from a car or motorbike and the aforementioned misinterpreted motorist was to
disobey the highway code this could cause them inconvenience and a less than glorious reputation.
This is of course a little silly and hopefully wont be a problem. If this where to happen I would either
have to ditch the footage from my final draft or edit in a way so that you couldnt see the offended
party.
Regulation.
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1620498?hl=en
The main medium for my piece id you tube. This is a very free as it is a less regulated medium. It is
regulated by google who own the website. They remove anything that is labelled as inappropriate or
infringes copyright, they regulate by asking users to report any videos that they believe are bad
enough to warrant being removed. The music I use may get my video taken down but I can appeal to
see it return. They also gather information on the channels and their views.
