Solve a History Mystery
TASK DESCRIPTION:
Solve a history mystery. Its time to put your detective skills to the test. Your task is to solve a history
mystery.
Written component Part A and Part B- Report (total length 1 A4 page - 350 words) Criteria A
Part A: Introduce the mystery What do we know about it? Who/what are the main features in it? How did we find out
about it? (Half a page)
Part B: Provide ONE existing theory that is used to explain the mystery. For example: One theory on King
Tutankhamens death was that he had contracted an infection in his leg, leading to his death. (Half a page)
Spoken component- Persuasive speech (total length 2 minutes) Criteria C
Part C: Provide your own theory on the mystery- what do you think happened? You will need to prepare a 2-minute
speech and perform this for the class to convince them of your theory.
