On November 3, 1992, shortly after being relieved of duty, you made physical
threats and used profanity toward the Lieutenant in Charge of the station you had
been working at. This action of yours was clearly insubordination which ie an
offense sufficient for dismissal from employment with the city of Pensacola.
I have reviewed your statement and those of others relative to this incident.
X have not found anything that took place previous to this incident that could
anyway justify, your behavior. In your statement you said racial slurs had beon
made in your presence that upset you, hovever other firefighters present stated
you also made racial conments regarding a black firefighter. You further stated
you did not believe the present station rules were fair relative to visitors in
fire stations. You apparently resented being reminded of station rules (Rules,
Regulations and Procedures, Pensacola Fire Department, Section 24) which may have
created the negative attitude that followed.
jure you that insubordination in this department will not be tolerated.
Your involvement in any further incidents of this nature will require more severe
disciplinary action.
