Introduction
Reactionsstartwiththecollisiontheory,sayingthatchemicalscollideintoeachotherand
haveachancetoreactiftheyareattherightpositioning.Chemicalshavetobeorientedcorrectly
forathechancetohappen.Theconcentrationhasahugeimpactonhowfastareactionhappens.
Thisisbecausethereismoreforthingstoreact.Theamountofenergycanalsodeterminehow
fastareactiongoes.Inagraph,thereistheamountofreactantsandproducts.Thereactantsis
whatisstartedwithinareactionand,theproductsiswhatisendedupwith.Thegraphwillshow
thereactantsatahighspotuntiltheactivationenergyisgiven,enoughtostartareactionand
bringthereactantsdown.Whilethisisgoingon,theproductssimultaneouslyisgoingup.Inside
ofthesystemwastalkedaboutthereisHydrogenperoxideandIodineandHydrogen.Thismakes
adoublebondedIodine,whichthenmixedwithVitaminC.Thebondmakesareactionthat
separatestheIodinesagain.However,theIodinesometimesmixeswiththestarchandturns
yellowtopurple.Thedelayhappensbecausethefirsttworeactionshappen.Forthisexperiment
itwasconcludedthatIodinewouldchangehowdarkthecontainergot.MoreIodineandthe
reactionshouldhappenfaster.Thiswouldmakesensebecause,thereismorechemicalstocollide
with,accordingtothecollisiontheory.

Inthisexperiment,3beakersweregathered,thenthebeakerswerelabeledAandBand
C.InbeakerA,10dropsofVitaminCwasadded,25dropsofIodinewasadded,alongwith5
mLofwater.InbeakerB,60dropsofhydroperoxidewasadded,10dropsofstarchwasadded,
alongwith5mL.BothbeakersarepreparedtobeputintobeakerC,andwhenmixed,thetimer
started.Whenthereactionseemstostop(whenthecolorwasadarkred),thetimerwasstopped.
Whiletheexperimenthappened,theonlychemicalthatwaschangedwasIodine.Thiswasdone
toreducetheamountofvariableschanged.Ifanotherwaschangedalongwithitwewontknow
whatitdoesbyitself.
ResultsandDiscussion:
Thefirsttestwasthecontrolthestandardmixtureusedtocompareotherresults.Inthe
control,theamountofiodinewaschangedinthesolution,byaconsiderableamount.The
reactionendedwiththeproductsveryfasttotheprevioussolution,howeverdidnotstartany
quicker.ThethirdtesthadlessIodineinit,anddidnotstartatall.Thiscouldbefromnotenough
tostartthereactionorithappenedanditcouldnotbeenseen.Thefourthtesthadstartedlate,this
canbeduethevitaminCthatwasbeingusedbecamelesspotent.Thereactionlastedshorterthan
thecontrolhowever,waslongerthanthetestwithlotsofIodine.ThetestthathadlotsofIodine
alsohadturnedalotdarker.

Conclusions:
ThedataseemstopointthattheamountofIodinecancontrolhowlongittakesfora
reactiontofinish.FrommostIodineusedtoleastthetimeswentlike:1:10,1:30,2:08,4:33.The
timeswerescalingup,concludingthatmoreIodinecanspeedupthereaction.Thegraphalso
showsadownwardstrend.Thiscanbebecause,thereismoreIodineanditisthereismoreofa
chancetoreact.Tofurtherthedatamoreshouldbetakenwithmorepotentanduptotake
ascorbicacid.Canthisexperimentbedonewithotherchemicalstomakeitslowerorfaster?If
anotherchemicalisadded,doesthatincreasethechanceofareaction?
