Planning PDCH

You have to keep in mind both voice and data services. You can assign 1 "fixed PDCH" channels, thus 1 timeslot (1
TCH FR), to accomodate 4 GPRS subscribers (11 Kbps). You have to monitor your 2G voice network, because you
may cause congestion in your 2G voice service (TCH congestion, SDCCH Drop, TCH Assignment Failure, etc).
Furthermore, you have to monitor the performance of the GPRS network (accessibility, PDCH assignment, utilization &
traffic) in order to understand if more PDCH channels are needed. You have to create and monitor the aforementioned
KPIs, in order to be sure for your dimensioning.
