Brief

Deadline: Friday 10th June 2016 by

About us: London music video are wanting
to commission a music video. We are a
London based music video company, we are
specialize in affordable band promo and
music video production. Our music videos
have been broadcasted on various large and small music channels to
name a few would be MTV, The Box, Channel U and The hits Channel.
What we want from you: we would like you to create a music video for
Ed Sheerans song Runaway. It should be no longer than 4 minutes, and
it should be correctly done to reach its target audience of women from the
age of 15 and over.
Things we would like to see:

Product Placement
Multi camera use
Lip sync
Cutting to the beat

You must also show planning for your music video this is due by
Friday 22nd April.
It must include:

Timescale
Relevant legislation must be followed
List of actors and their roles
Health and safety issues
Programme format where music video will be shown
Issues and solutions

Genre: singer/songwriter

What are the conventions of music videos for this genre? Unlike
rock or pop music videos which have large scale productions, this genre involves a
more realistic approach in everyday situations are favoured over over-the-top
videos with crazy concepts. Singer-songwriters portray different issues from a
more personal perspective and therefor their videos are often derived from the
meaning behind or within the lyrics. Visuals for singer-songwriter music videos
reflect ordinary everyday settings/situations such as walking through streets,
hanging out with friends, relaxing at home, having an argument etc.

How are you going to meet this conventions in your video? The
style that I will be following will that of a narrative. By doing this not only will I be
meeting my brief but I will also be following the genre of my chosen song and
artist. As my artist is a singer/song writer the conventions I need to follow are that
of not being to over the top (crazy) as it is more everyday situations that could
possible happen in real life.

Costumes: There arent really any set costumes that my actors have to wear,

its more of their everyday clothes this it to keep it looking more realistic, the father
I would say is the only one who needs a more specific clothing (painting clothes).

Locations: The location of my music video will be located in Brightwell-cumsoftwell. Around the area, and in a home.

Shot types: Cutting to the beat and close ups and long shots.
