Section A : Directed Writing

[Time suggested : 45 minutes]
You are an active member of a Science Club in your school. Your teacher-adviser has
asked you to write an article entitled Tips How to Eat Healthily to be published in the
school magazine.
In your article, include the following:

Stick to a balanced diet

- Filled with nutritional content and follow the portions in the food pyramid

Have a good breakfast

- Provide essential nutrients
- Able to perform daily activities

Prepare your own snacks

- Be selective of snacks you eat and make healthier choice

Limit consumption of sugar and salt

- High intake-leads to diabetes and high blood pressure
- Reduce processed food and carbonated drinks

Eat sensibly
- Eat only when hungry and avoid eating between meals
- Make effort to eat right

When writing the article, you should remember to:

use all the information given
add any other relevant details

Note: For your article, you will receive up to 15 marks for the format and content points,
and up to 20 marks for the quality of your writing.
