    Linear actuators use limit switches to control the stroke length and prevent collisions. As the drive nut travels down the lead screw of a linear actuator, it presses the limit switch buttons which cut the electrical circuit and cause the actuator to stop, setting the stroke length. While stroke length can also be controlled by software, limit switches provide a simple mechanism for most applications to adjust the stroke length of a linear actuator.

    In almost all applications, TiMotions stroke lenght is controlled by using limit switches
    (a.k.a micro switches).
    The drive nut will trable down the lead screw. As the drive nut presses the limit swithc
    button, it will cut the electrical circuit and cause the actuator to stop.
    Stroke lenght can be controlled by software as well, but in most applications it is simply
    controlled by the limit switches.
