Today we say farewell to our Pastor, Fr. Michael L. Zoufal, and extend a gracious
Thank You for his devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ, His Church and 5 years of
exceptional dedication, service, guidance and the support he provided for all
parishioners of St. Albert the Great.
Giving to others came naturally to Fr. Michael, he always found the extra time or
the extra thought, which made a difference in many lives.
We Thank You, Fr. Michael for being such a wonderful example of Gods love and
for transforming St. Albert the Great parish into a beautiful place of worship.
Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for everything you have done for us.
Dear Fr. Michael Zoufal, May God Bless You and Protect You as you move forward and
experience new opportunities bringing the love and mercy of God to more people.
May St. Albert the Great watch over and guide you in the years to come. May the light of Christ
go with you in your journey! Please, know that you will always be remembered in our prayers!

FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CHRIST
The great fifty-day celebration of Easter has concluded, as
have the feasts honoring the Holy Trinity and the Body and
Blood of Christ. Last week we began a long stretch of Ordinary
Time that will bring us to late November. Saint Paul tells us
today that those who are baptized have clothed yourselves with
Christ (Galatians 3:27). This scripture is echoed in the
Churchs baptism ritual when we sing, You have put on Christ,
in him you have been baptized. This message is inspiring and
sobering at the same time, for in todays Gospel, we get to the
heart of what it means to be clothed in Christ. The Lord tells us,
If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and
take up his cross daily and follow me (Luke 9:23). For the next
twenty-two weeks we are called to take up the cross and, with
Saint Luke as our guide, follow in the footsteps of Christ. Copyright

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

What is RCIA? RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and it is the process through
which personsadults 18 years of age or olderjoin or complete their initiation into the Catholic
Church. For additional information please contact Deacon Pete Manning, Coordinator of Religious Education for St. Albert the Great Parish at 708 636-0406.
The RCIA is for three groups of people:
Is The RCIA for me?
1. Those who are not baptized
2. Those who were baptized into another Christian denomination and wish to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.
3. Baptized Catholics who were never formed in the Catholic faith and have not completed their initiation; that is, who have never received the sacraments of Confirmation and or Eucharist.
How does the RCIA Work? RCIA consist of four periods of formation which are marked by rituals that
celebrate what has been completed and call a person into the next phase. There is no specific length of
time for each period. The RCIA is a journey which gives a person time for prayer, study, and conversation so as to hear the Word of God and embrace the call to discipleship and holiness. The stages are as
follows.
The Inquiry or Precatechumenate / The Catechumenate / The Lenten period of purification and
Enlightenment / Mystagogy or a time of deeper understanding of the mysteries
