different minds for a common end. There can be no concert if the different persons with their musical instrument are not of the same mind. If they play on thier instrument as they like, there will be only chaos and confusion but no harmony. As in the case of musical instrument, so in case of all other affairs, unity of purpose is indispensably necessary. This alone enables us to produce a result conductive to the common good. So no single person can do what is to be done by several persons unitedly. In other words, the real strenght lies in unity. A nation, whose citizens are united, is strong. A family, whose members are united, is strong. A team whose players are in combination with one another, is strong. As unity strength, so disunity is weakness. No nation can continue as a free and independent one if its citizens are not united. In the First and Second Great Wars, Germany in spite of its great might, could not smash British because the English people were united. In the September War (1965) with India, the name of Pakistan would have been obliterated from the map if we were not united to save our independence. This shows that in the case of a nation, unity is strenght and disunity is weakness. The same principle is applicable to the case of a family. If all its members are united and work for its good, they prosper. But if they are selfish and have no unity of purpose, its condition worsens. So in the case of a family, its strength lie in the unity of its members, but if they not united, it goes to ruin. In this connection the story of the old farmer and his quarrelling sons is very instructive. So long as the sticks were united in the bundle was united and the separated sticks were given to his sons, they could break then very easily. By this example the old man taught his son that unity is strength. Nobody can do us any harm so long as we are united. But when we are disunited. Misfortune befalls us. Since Malaysia practice parliamentary democracy and it is necessary to instill the spirit of one Malaysia among the multi-ethnic society. When people of diverse origin become united, Malaysia will gain widely from the close cooperatin. Malays, Indians, Chinese and other races will be able to live peacefully without the feeling of hatred, anger, jealousy and envy. It is therefore the right time for all Malaysian to think of this as one coutry, one people, one organization and one community. This will add a lot of benefits for Malaysia will remain safe, stable and secure at all time. The one Malaysia concept will enable all Malaysians to improve further in education, technology, science, art, music and culinary skill. When a nation lives peacefully without prejudice and discrimination, the country will prosper to great height. All Malaysians will learn from each other and
help one another regardless the dissimilarity of races. Hence, a society of
love, trust, care and mutual respect will be created. This country will become a role model for others to emulate where peace, prosperity and happeniss will prevail. Malaysia will become the leaders in all fields for they will share knowledge, know hows, skills and tact. Malaysia will be able to lead more meningful life for they will learn to love Malaysia as their homeland. There will ot be any migration to other countries for they will be satisfed and happy with the local conditions and situations. The point will be quite clear if we consider the care of a foot-ball teams. Its strength lines in its combination. If the players subordinate in thier, interests to the good of the team, they win. But if, on the contrary, they have no unity of prupose and everyone of them as he pleases, their team is bound to be defeated. In this way we may see that in every sphere of human life, strength lies in unity and disunity leads to disaster and ruin.
