INSTRUCTIONALSOFTWARE
Cardswillinitiallybeusedinwholegroupinstruction.Iwillgothroughthesetoncewiththeclass,
andstudentswilldrawthepicturesofthetermsonsmallwhiteboards.Oncewegothroughtheset
onceasagroup,studentswillbegiventhechoiceofhowtopracticewiththecardsindependently
for10minutes.Studentscanchoosefromdrillandpractice,instructionalgameslikeScatteror
SpaceRace,ortheycanassesstheirownprogressusingthetestfeature.Asstudentsare
practicing,Iwillwalkaroundtheroomtoanswerquestionsandprovideadditionalsupportwith
theconceptsasneeded.Thesecardswillbepostedontheclassroomwebsitesothattheyare
availableforpracticeoutsideoftheclassroomaswell.
Assessment:
Thelessonobjectiveisforthestudentstorecognize
supplementary,complementary,
vertical,andadjacentanglesandknowthemeasurementsofeachangle.Quizletisthe
instructionaltoolIwilluse.Toassessstudentprogressonthisobjective,Iwilluseanexitticket.
Theticketwillbe5picturesofangles,andthestudentswillnamethemusingawordbank,and
writetheanglemeasure.Datafromthisexitticketwillinformmylessonplanforthenextday.Any
studentsthatdidnotmastertheobjectivewillmeetwithmeinasmallgrouptomorrowtoreview
theconcept.Thenextstepwillbeforstudentstoapplythisknowledgetosolvemultistep
problemsandtowriteandsolvesimpleequationsforanunknownangleinafigure.
