Dear Interview Panel:
Lindsey Robertson is currently working as a mathematics teacher and the department chair for mathematics for Copper Canyon High School. She currently is mentoring, coaching and supervising fourteen mathematics teachers. Eleven of those teachers are new to Copper Canyon this year, three are long term subs, and four are first year teachers. All of the eleven have under five years of experience in the teaching field. For other instructional leaders, this would present a crisis situation, not Ms. Robertson. She has thrived! She has systematically mentored and trained the entire group in all aspects of their teaching practice. She has covered everything from how to use a gradebook to sound instructional strategies. Lindsey has not stopped at mentoring, however. Lindsey has engaged the teachers to become a professional learning community. She is striving to develop long term instructional leaders. She is interested in making a department of committed mathematics teachers and so she is not only solving short term problems, but is looking to strengthen her department for the long term. A sound instructional leader is the best moniker to describe Lindsey. Tasks prescribe d to her are completed with efficiency and quiet authority. She also seeks ways to prevent situations from occurring. Ms. Robertson is an excellent candidate for Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, for both her dedication to growing strong teachers and her very strong and positive leadership style. Sincerely,
Kim Baerwald Kim Cartwright Baerwald Instructional Leadership Coordinator For Math & Science Kimberly.baerwald@tuhsd.org
