On the basis of Opening vignette and my research, Strategy means A process selected for a
preferred future, like accomplishment of aims or resolving the problem. So the present
Corporate strategy for Hudson Bay under which they are working are Incremental &
International Growth Strategy, the term is known as Incremental Cooperate Strategy in which
the process revolves around increasing the customer base, launching more and new products,
present new idea of sharing network.
Hudsons Bay is presently providing many services simultaneously which includes households,
Fashion goods, comforters, clothing etc. This organization also went online with wide variety of
goods for different categories which includes all needs and essentials of daily life. As this
company has partners and move in joint projects with Germany and Canada, such relationships
for business prove very effective.
The study of Business Strategy Hudsons Bay is Broad Differentiation. They have a long list
of products that allures broad range of the consumers.
On the other hand, Zeller wants to compete with their oppositions so they chose Low Cost
Provider Strategy from which they are able to attract huge range of the customers because they
are selling the products less than the other seller prices.
Zellers with its quality service and growth had hit the 1 billion dollar mark in 1983, went past 2
billion in 1989 and was over 3 billion in 1993. The solo strategy of growth helped zellers to sail
new heights which they implemented by new store openings and acquiring other businesses.

1) The mission statement meet the person on a bus test, the words provide, book lovers,
those care, inspiring retail, online environments, for books, life enriching products and
services add sequence and meaning to the mission, which relates it with famous book
store named as Coles Book Store.
2) The mission statement partially meet the person on a bus test, the words dedicated, build
a national resource enabling the Canadians to know their heritage and themselves but the
words provide a gateway between the national and international resources does not meet
the mission because the mission is to build a national resources so the international
resources availability is not clear stated, It leads towards National library of Canada.
3) The mission statement meet the person on a bus test, the words campaigning
organisations, non violent, creative confrontation, expose, global environmental
problems, force solutions, ensure peaceful and green full future meet the test statement.
The organisations is trying to bring solution in a peaceful manner, the words used in the
statement meets the mission of the organisation, It means Greenpeace organization.

1) Why HR would be considered a strategic Contributor to an organization.
HR is considered as a strategic contributor to an organisation because,

a) Organisation: HR should focus on organisation management, design, development and


the metrics, financial status and should be analytical in assessing the changes, deviations
and alterations constantly.
b) Succession Scheduling: HR professionals focus on being directed towards the progress
of the company and employees, set strategic planning and constructive actions towards
their strategy.
c) Market demand: HR focus on upgrading their work nature so as to increase the
productivity by incorporating the technology development, meeting the market demand
and avail a positive working atmosphere to the employees by upgrading them and
training them with the technology development.
d) Employees Capability and Quality: HR is required in an organisation to analyse the job
vacancy, select, recruit and train employees, recognise their work, provide benefits, and
increase productivity to the organisation.
e) Lawful Agreement: HR manager have to create policy and according to the employment
laws which should be free from any discrimination issues and keep equity.
2) Reasons why HR might not be considered a strategic contributor to an
organization.
a) Cost factor: The HR department will contain many employees which make extra cost
factor to the organisation for the functioning of the department.
b) Administrative Phases: HR functions like recruitment, selection, training, performance
appraisals and compensation plans involves a lot of work and monitoring, software to
maintain records which lead to additional cost and time.
c) Involvement: In case of few companies, Involvement of HR in departmental activities
create unnecessary conflicts as every department have duty to done their work
exclusively as individual departments.
d) Off Shoring : This term can be led towards the interruptions of external companies in the
corporate events, hence the outcomes are incorrect results of hiring persons who might be
not suitable at the certain time.
e) Decreases productivity: While providing incentives or giving the negative or positive
motivation HR executive can create some errors.
