Consecration of ikin ifa

One needs to look for the best ikin from a sacred palm tree that is still being
venerated or appeased till date. It should have never been cooked before or be
processed with hot water to obtain its oil.
The ikin should be:
(1) buried in a marshy spot after being wrapped in ewe Ifa. All the necessary
items of consumption by Ifa should be put on it in the leaves before wrapping. It
shall be buried for 7 days. After exhuming the ikins, they have to be extracted,
washed in omi ero. Then, feeding with chicken and the people should be fed also.
Food and gin inclusive.
Alternatively, some people put the ikin in a pot (isaasun). All the required items
including the locust bean should be used to feed the ikin put in mashed solid palp
with enough water. This should be kept for at least 3 consecutive days
