In addition to being responsible for more than 85 per cent of lung cancers smoking is
associated with cancers of amongst others the mouth stomach and kidneys and is
thought to cause about 14 per cent of leukemia and cervical cancers. In 1990 smoking
caused more than 84000 deaths mainly resulting from such problems as pneumonia
bronchitis and influenza. Smoking it is believed is responsible for 30 per cent of all deaths
from cancer and clearly represents the most important preventable cause of cancer in
countries like the United States today.

This technology brought lots of risks for people

These days everybody is used to spend countless hours in front of television screens. So
some people think that T.V is extremely dangerous for our lifestyles. While others believe
that Television have good results on us and it is not considered dangerous. This essay
will discuss both sides and will draw my personal conclusion.
In one hand TVs could make our life more enjoyable. Lots of comedy and interesting
programs like cartoons are displayed on these devices Which make us too much
engaged in front of televisions. For example Tom & Jerry cartoon is a very popular
funny program showed on televisions. Lots of children get very happy when they see
it. So thats why some people think that Television is not such a big problem.
On the other hand A loss of communicational skills could happen due to television
usage. When people tend to just sit in front of a screen for hours without talking with
others they will gradually tend to loose their social interaction skills. To illustrate a
recent research shows that teenagers who watch TV more than 2 hours daily suffer
from lack of talking skills in front of people. Hence the belief that this technology
brought lots of risks for people.
In addition Addiction is a common side effect of TVs. People watch them for long
hours and still whish for more. For an instance If I saw one episode of an interesting
program I will wait eagerly for other episodes or other more interesting programs.
This proves clearly that TVs could do lots of harm on our behavior and lifestyle.
In conclusion after a careful analysis of both point views I believe that television is still a
dangerous issue that has viral effects on humans life.
